One Room Challenge- Week 5 Update

I am a day late and I wasn't going to even do a post for this week, but thought I'd better just let you know where things are at this  point.

Here's the progress of the bar...

To remind you, this is what it looked like at last week's update post.

Look really close... do you see the progress? Get your face really close to the screen. Still don't see it? Okay, I'll give you a hint... there was no progress.

If you've been following my makeover of my bar area ( week 1, week 2, week 3week 4) for Calling it Home's  One Room Challenge Linking Party, you would know that most of this job is being done by my husband and it's pretty much a weekend(s) project. I think he's been doing a really great job, and am very happy with what has been done so far.

However, we've hit some bumps along the way and if you read my week 3 post, one of my Grandmothers passed away. Her funeral was this past weekend and we spent the whole weekend spent with family. It was bittersweet time. While being completely sad to say goodbye to her, it felt good to be surrounded with family and share some laughs and memories.

Also, you may have heard about the incredibly senseless high school shooting in Washington state last Friday. This happened in a neighboring town and happened to take the life of a child that I know the parents and family of. It is so heartbreaking and unreal to me still. I simply can not imagine what all these families are going through right now, and the poor children that witnessed the event. My heart truly goes out to everyone involved. If you can send some prayers their way too, that would be wonderful.

So, you can see it was a sad and heavy heart kind of weekend, and the bar area did not get touched.
We will be working on it this weekend, and I am pretty sure it will be done by next Thursday. Again though if it's not... it's not. I am not going to stress about it.

Give you loved ones a hug and see you back here next week.

  1. So sorry for your loss and I agree, I can't even imagine what the families are going through that had a child in the shooting. This is just beyond belief. I will keep you all in prayer.

  2. There's nothing wrong with taking time for family and community. I hope this week brings you healing and happiness. (...And it sounds like you deserve a drink from that bar once you're done with it!)

  5. Stacey that was a rough week. I did not hear about the shooting but senseless crimes like that make me sick. This will be your week and I can see you rocking this out and ending on a good note.

  7. Stacey, I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandmother, and for the tragic death of your friends' son. What a heart wrenching time. I saw your update on IG on your bar and am happy for you that this area of your beautiful home is coming along!! Almost there, and a good diversion from real life, I'm sure :)
