Birthday Revelations and a Giveaway!

Yikes! Another year has passed me by, and I am another year older today. Hopefully a little wiser too.
I don't know if it's just me, but on my birthdays I tend to reflect on the year past; what I've learned, what I need to work on and what goals to set for the following year. Maybe it's because my birthday is so close to the end of the year as well, and revelations and resolutions are flying through my brain.
Things to be grateful for: I have the love of a great family, and am truly blessed that everyone is in great health. We have a roof over our heads, and my husband has a well paying job that I am lucky enough to be at home for the kids. I am happy that I have chosen to move forward in following my passion for interior design, and hopefully will be able to help other people in planning their designs for their homes in the future. I am happy that I started a blog, to keep me focused on my passion and getting to know other bloggers, and followers along the way.
What I need to work on is my horrible procrastination problem, and self- doubting problem. I let the fear of failing stop me from trying and I need to let that go. After all, I am not getting any younger!
If you've read my post on Nate Berkus' book, Things that Matter, you'll know that I really took this to heart and will really try to focus on things that matter in my life (not just in design), and try ever so hard not to worry about the little things.
In honor of my birthday, I would like to giveaway a gift instead of receive one, to a lucky reader.
I will be giving away one of Nate's book, Things that Matter.

To enter the drawing, all you have to do is to sign up to follow me either by email subscription or by being a follower on the right side bar, and leave a comment below about one change you will be making in the New Year.
Enter before Monday, December 11th at midnight (PST) and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday. Good luck and have a great weekend!

  2. First of all, happy birthday! I hope you had a great day. I've learned to accept my procrastination situation rather than try to rebel against it. I figure it's just part of who I am, and after a lot of years of trying to change it, I figure it's just not going to happen. I'd love to win a copy of Nate's book and I'm happy to be following your beautiful blog!
