A Simple Porch Decorating Idea and Link Up Party

I was unable to show photos of our front door and porch area in my Christmas tour due to many gray and rainy days. Today was a clear day and we just cleaned up after our little wind storm from last week, so I thought I'd show you how I decorated this area.

This is a simple and easy thing for anyone to do for their own entry. I purchased the 2 door wreaths from Costco and  made bows for them with plaid wired ribbon from a local craft store.

The ribbon on the lights were bought for $1 or $2 from Michaels. They had them at Target as well. They are outdoor resistant so  I use them year after year.

For the pots, I actually stole the idea from my mom. I got plain small wreaths from Lowe's ( they come with the red ribbon) for $9.99 each. Then I filled the middle with pinecones and little bulb ornaments. Voila! Je suis finite. (How do you like that 4 years of french? lol.)

Today you can link up your holiday home here! I'd really love to see it. And I'll show off my favorites later this week.

Recap of the 12 Days of Christmas Tour of Homes

I want to thank everyone that dropped by my tour on Friday! I hope you enjoyed the tour and maybe took away some sort of inspiration.

Speaking of inspiration... there was plenty of that with all the tours in our 12 Days of Christmas Tour of homes this month.

Here's a little recap if you missed anyone's tours. Just click on the photo and you'll be directed to their tour.

And mine incase you didn't catch it.

Thanks for following along and hope you had fun checking out all our festive homes.

Don't forget you can link up your own home tour on Tuesday, December 16th on Jenny's blog, Evolution of Style. We are looking forward to taking your tour too.

My Christmast Home Tour 2014

Hello! If you are new here to my blog, thank you so much for dropping in! If you are a returning reader, then thank you too for coming by today for my special Christmas home tour.

I am so honored to have been asked to participate in the 12 Days of Christmas Tour of Homes once again this year. Both last year and this year I was so honored when asked to join this great group of talented women that it took awhile for the reality to sink in that many people will be checking out my home. Talk about stress. Let me tell you though I am SO grateful this is a virtual tour! Oh, if you could have seen what was behind these photos. I didn't even (gasp) mop my floors! I think I am digging this kind of tour.

Enough of me gabbing, let's get on with the tour.

That wraps up my tour! I hope you enjoyed it. I didn't go into what changes I made from last year or anything, for I'll leave that for a post I'll put up soon. If you have any questions about anything you saw in the tour, please let me know and I'll be sure to address it in the next post.

I have been bad about posting lately and I really have to give a big ol' shout out to the 9 ladies that went ahead of me. All their home tours were fantastic. I love this group because all our styles are a little bit different but they are all so beautiful, cheerful, elegant, bling-y, colorful, traditional and festive. I sure hope you will take all their tours and give them some love for showing off their homes. Just click on the boxes below to take their tour.

Also, I will be back on Monday with a roundup of my favorite photos of all their tours, so come on back here Monday. AND... don't forget on Tuesday, December 16th YOU can link up your own house tour over at Jenny's blog (Evolution of Style). We all would love to see how you decorate too.

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you'll come back. In between posts be sure to follow me on Instagram. @Stewardofdesign
